How To Change Camera Heroes Of The Storm

Welcome to our guide to the almost interesting custom Hotkeys for Heroes of the Storm and the reasons behind them, from personal preference to increasing your effectiveness and survivability in some scenarios. I tried to list them in order of importance and also to include useful tips almost them, when appropriate.

Default A
Suggested Left Mouse Button
Path Hotkeys → Bones
Code [Hotkeys] CommandButton10=LeftMouseButton

Attack, also called Set on Move, is a command used to choose the target of your Bones Attacks. Heroes automatically use Basic Attacks when enemies are nearby, however, this command is extremely important for manually choosing your target.

Some players like to have the Attack control on the Left Mouse Button, then that they tin easily stutter-pace by using their correct manus and/or tin have their left hand's ring finger on the Q key all the fourth dimension, something that allows them to be faster at using Abilities which vest to that key (such equally Blink Icon Glimmer by Tracer).

If you miss your intended target, your Hero will motility towards that position and stop moving to Assault the nearest enemy. While kiting backwards and/or if the closest enemy is who you want to Assail, you can simply issue an Assault control anywhere around you, without the need to motility your mouse back and forth.

Alert! If you demark the Attack command to the Left Mouse Button, the Select feature will not work anymore. If you play The Lost Vikings and/or Samuro, make sure to cull another key for information technology. Note that, without the Select characteristic, you will non be able to open up the Target Info Panel as well.

Default S
Path Hotkeys → Basic

Stop is a control used to tell your Hero to stop moving but keep using Basic Attacks. Any activeness in queue (meet Queue Command Modifier for more) will exist removed.

Tank players, but not only them, will sometimes need to use Stop to accurately torso-block enemy Heroes that are trying to retreat. If you use Hold for doing so, yous may lose the opportunity to deal damage with your Basic Attacks, especially if you are playing Heroes who can attack while moving (for case D.Va).

Stop is the fastest tool we accept to stop our Hero that is moving into a dangerous area (for instance multiple Toxic Nest Icon Toxic Nest by Abathur) because it does not require to position your mouse accordingly.

Default H
Suggested X
Path Hotkeys → Basic
Code [Hotkeys] CommandButton12=10

Concur is a command used to make your Hero terminate using Bones Attacks. In addition to that, your Hero will stop moving as well. Any action in queue (see Queue Control Modifier for more) volition be removed.

There are some Heroes who proceeds value when you hit them with Basic Attacks, especially if your Hero has high Attack Speed (for case Tracer against Genji with Deflect Icon Deflect agile). When you see that, immediately employ the Hold command.

As the default fundamental for the Concur control is difficult to use, I heavily recommend changing it to a dissimilar key, closer to the other keys you lot use. Some players like to replace Stop with Hold, but it'due south non optimal because you lot lose the opportunity to body-block without stopping your Basic Attacks.

Warning! If you bind the Concur command to the X primal, the Expression Bike characteristic will non work anymore unless you modify its primal likewise, withal, you volition still be able to utilize Expressions via their defended keys: Taunt [J], Dance [Y], Spray [T], and Vocalism [I].

v.

Attack Movement Target Point

Default Disabled
Suggested Enabled for Ranged Heroes • Disabled for Melee Heroes
Path Options → Gameplay

Assault Move Target Signal helps you when using the Attack [A] command. If enabled, your Hero volition target the closest enemy (excluding neutral Mercenaries when idle) to your mouse cursor. If disabled, your Hero will target the closest enemy to themselves.

Warning! There is no way to tell the game that yous are playing a ranged Hero or a melee Hero, and so yous'll have to change this setting every time you lot change from melee to ranged Hero, or vice versa. If you do non want to change it based on that, just stick on the value you prefer.

Attack Move Target Point

Default Right Mouse Button
Suggested Center Mouse Button
Path Hotkeys → Advanced → Hero Management
Lawmaking [Hotkeys] SmartCommand=MiddleMouseButton

Smart Commands acquit differently based on where you click; your Hero volition: Attack, Motility, or Collaborate. Collaborate ways using special objects (for example Healing Fountain or Portal Icon Portal by Medivh) or collecting things on the battlefield (such as Tributes on Cursed Hollow).

When moving backwards to kite or retreat, avoid using Smart Commands [Right Mouse Push] for doing so because misclicking your target volition make y'all walk towards the enemy and die. When moving forrard to chase, it does non thing if you misclick.

Warning! If yous demark Smart Commands to the Middle Mouse Button, you may desire to choose a new key for the post-obit hotkeys: Drag Curl, Move Minimap Camera (Normal Mode), Move Minimap Photographic camera (Targeting Mode).

7.

Smart Commands Through Minimap

Default Disabled
Suggested Enabled
Path Options → Gameplay

Smart Commands Through Minimap is a useful feature to avoid interacting with the Minimap by mistake. If you have information technology disabled, you can move your Hero past clicking on the Minimap, but at the same time you risk to sometimes accidentally move your Hero towards the enemy team when you want to retreat.

Warning! Force Move does not benefit from this feature, and then it will never ignore your Minimap.

Default Unbound
Suggested Right Mouse Push
Path Hotkeys → Bones
Lawmaking [Hotkeys] CommandButton20=RightMouseButton

Force Movement ways Move simply. In other words, Force Movement is like Smart Commands without Attack and Collaborate. Unproblematic equally that, but what are the real benefits of this hotkey?

If you have Force Move on the Right Mouse Push button, you will non accidentally use Basic Attacks on the enemy Immortal while you lot are trying to dodge his scary Abilities or take a nearby Medivh'southward Portal Icon Portal that y'all did not desire to employ.

Warning! In case you lot choose to play with Forcefulness Move on the Right Mouse Button and Smart Commands on a weird primal, Save a backup Hotkeys Profile that still allows y'all to apply Smart Commands commonly because Forcefulness Move currently has 2 notorious bugs:

  • Hanzo cannot employ Force Motion while charging Tempest Bow considering it stops the aqueduct, all the same, y'all tin concord Force Movement and then start charging Storm Bow instead;
  • if you use the Queue Control Modifier to choose where to go by using Force Move with it, your Hero volition follow your mouse cursor instead of going towards the chosen destination.

Force Move

Default 1/2/3/4/5/6
Suggested Extra Mouse Button i/two and ane/two/3/four/v/half dozen
Path Hotkeys → Bones
Lawmaking [Hotkeys] InventoryButtonUse0=1,BackMouseButton InventoryButtonUse0=2,ForwardMouseButton

Apply Talent hotkeys are needed for Active Talents (such as Rewind Icon Rewind on Muradin) and for Heroes who accept extra Abilities baseline (for example Bone Armor Icon Os Armor on Xul), only not used for switching Hero with The Lost Vikings or Clone with Samuro. You can continue them like this or set them as you adopt. Yous can also have two different hotkeys for the same command. Go on in mind that the game always puts extra Abilities in the first free slot from the left, fifty-fifty if they are Passive effects (similar Blessed Recovery Icon Blessed Recovery on Anduin).

Alarm! If you alter Utilise Talent settings, think to change the corresponding Quick Cast Hotkeys equally well (bank check the Quick Cast Hotkeys section below).

10.

Queue Command Modifier

Default Shift
Path Hotkeys → Avant-garde

Queue Command Modifier is a command that allows us to queue multiple actions that our Hero volition execute in the same order they take been queued upwardly while holding said modifier.

You lot tin employ Queue Command Modifier to speed up some actions:

  • summon your Mount correct after channeling an Objective;
  • effect a Move command immediately after channeling your Mount;
  • outcome a Move command directly after using the Healing Fountain;
  • issue a Move command to walk around a given area (for example an enemy Watch Belfry) or just to avoid taking a dangerous path;
  • to chain multiple Abilities while playing some Heroes who can benefit from that.
Default Off
Suggested On
Path Hotkeys → Quick Cast Setting
Code [Settings] GlobalQuickCastMode=On

There are 3 types of Quick Cast Setting to perform actions:

  • Off: printing a cardinal to enter targeting mode and and then press Cull Ability/Talent Target [Left Mouse Push] to confirm your action, resulting in more accurateness at the cost of speed;
  • On Release: hold a primal to enter targeting style then release to confirm your action, resulting in a good compromise between speed and accuracy;
  • On: press a key to confirm your action immediately without going into targeting mode, therefore more speed at the cost of accuracy.

While it is recommended to apply Quick Cast On, there are players having success with Quick Cast Off whereas Quick Cast On Release is not considered that practiced for many players. Choose what you adopt.

Quick Cast Setting

Yous can fifty-fifty change the Quick Cast Setting for a specific action. Consider using this feature to change the Quick Cast Setting for the Attack command from Use Global Setting to On. Change information technology for a random Hero and a random Vehicle to automatically change it for all of them.

Rich, HGC player from squad Gen.Thousand, liked to play Alarak'due south Discord Strike Icon Discord Strike with Quick Cast Off while having the rest on Quick Cast On to avert accidentally casting Discord Strike Icon Discord Strike before Telekinesis Icon Telekinesis actually happened.

Default Unbound
Suggested Ctrl + Q/W/E/R/D/i/2/iii/iv/5/6
Path Hotkeys → Avant-garde
Code [Hotkeys] CommandButtonQuickCastOnUp00=Ctrl+Q InventoryButtonQuickCastOnUp0=Ctrl+ane

Quick Cast Hotkeys allow y'all to play the game with multiple Quick Cast settings at the same fourth dimension. When you want to cast Abilities with your default Quick Cast setting, just printing their key normally. When yous desire to bandage Abilities with a different Quick Cast setting, use a modifier (for example Q becomes Shift + Q) or a completely different key (for example Q becomes 1).

Alert! Avert using Shift for Quick Cast Hotkeys because it is the same key used as Queue Command Modifier past default. When both features apply the aforementioned key, you volition take problems when trying to queue Abilities via Queue Command Modifier. In all other situations, everything will be fine because Quick Cast Hotkeys will take priority over Queue Command Modifier.

Warning! If you change Quick Cast Hotkeys, remember to alter the respective Employ Talent settings as well (check the Apply Talent department to a higher place).

13.

Quick Talent Selection Favorite

Default Ctrl + \
Suggested Ctrl + F
Path Hotkeys → Advanced → Hero Direction
Lawmaking [Hotkeys] QuickHeroTalentTreeSelectionFavorite=Control+F

The ability to immediately pick a Talent every bit presently as your team unlocks a new Talent Tier is of import to have. If yous are unable to use Ctrl + 1/2/3/4/5 because they are not that like shooting fish in a barrel to press for you, so you can apply the Quick Talent Selection Favorite control to speedily pick a Talent that is part of your currently selected Build. Just brand sure—after taking a await at Battleground, centrolineal Heroes, and enemy Heroes at the commencement of the game—that your selected Build is the one you want to be playing in that detail game.

Default F1
Suggested Shift + Tab
Path Hotkeys → Advanced → Hero Direction
Code [Hotkeys] QuickHeroTalentPanel=Shift+Tab

Compared to looking at Talents, looking at Stats is rarely useful during the game. When enemy Heroes are missing, you lot can check if their Self-Healing/Shielding is going up or not to find out if they are fighting against neutral Mercenaries out of vision. For remainder reasons, Siege Harm does not go upwards when Heroes are fighting confronting neutral Mercenaries.

Default F2
Suggested Tab
Path Hotkeys → Advanced → Hero Management
Lawmaking [Hotkeys] QuickHeroTalentPanel=Tab

With the change suggested hither, you lot will be able to quickly check Talents without the need to change page at the start of every game and without having to press Tab twice for opening the Talents panel and then endmost it. In addition to that, accidentally pressing Tab will not hinder your gameplay that much because releasing the Tab primal will immediately close the Leader Panel again.

16.

Quick Expiry Epitomize Panel

Default F3
Suggested Ctrl + Tab
Path Hotkeys → Advanced → Hero Direction
Code [Hotkeys] QuickHeroTalentPanel=Ctrl+Tab

Expiry Epitomize does not really demand to be opened fast, so you can either use a less important fundamental or key combination or keep information technology unassigned and thus open it past clicking on the corresponding icon on the user interface while your Hero is dead.

17.

Follow Current Selection

Default L
Suggested C
Path Hotkeys → Advanced → Photographic camera
Code [Hotkeys] CameraFollow=C

Follow Electric current Pick is a control that allows you lot to switch between Camera Follow—called Locked Camera by the community—enabled and disabled. When disabled, your camera will not follow your Hero merely you lot will be free to move it. When enabled, your camera will follow your Hero but y'all will not be free to move information technology.

Even if it is heavily recommended to play with Photographic camera Follow disabled considering information technology stops your photographic camera when your Hero reaches the screen borders, some players practise not similar it because they endure motion sickness and/or considering information technology requires additional mouse movement.

If y'all actually like and/or demand it, however, we recommend a trivial change that, if used correctly, volition basically negate the major weakness of playing with Photographic camera Follow enabled. First of all, you lot demand to change fundamental for toggling Camera Follow because the L cardinal is hard to utilize. Second, you lot have to be ready to turn Photographic camera Follow off when needed (for example E.T.C. preparing to use Stage Dive Icon Stage Dive) or this modify will be useless.

Default Infinite
Path Hotkeys → Avant-garde → Hero Management

Spotlight is a command that marks your Hero with a blueish beam, sometimes helpful for finding your Hero when you lot are playing without Camera Follow enabled and too many things are happening on your screen.

If yous practice non like the Spotlight characteristic, you tin can unbind it without fear of losing the Center Current Selection control that is on the aforementioned key simply corresponds to a dissimilar command that belongs to the Camera section.

Default Jump To with F5-F8 and Shift + F5-F8; Create with Ctrl + F5-F8 and Ctrl + Shift + F5-F8
Suggested Jump To with F1-F8; Create with Shift + F1-F8
Culling Jump To with F1-F4 and Shift + F1-F4; Create with Ctrl + F1-F4 and Ctrl + Shift + F1-F4
Path Hotkeys → Avant-garde → Camera
Code [Hotkeys] CameraSave0=Shift+F1 CameraView0=F1

Camera Location is a feature that allows yous to save the position of your camera and be able to quickly bound in that location when needed, something that is extremely useful when playing Abathur's Calldown: MULE Icon Calldown: MULE and you desire apace cheque the state of your Structures in multiple lanes as well as when playing other Heroes and you want to speedily meet what is going on somewhere else.

Default Unbound
Suggested Left Turn with Insert; Right Turn with Delete
Path Non Available
Lawmaking [Hotkeys] CameraTurnLeft=Insert CameraTurnRight=Delete

Camera Turn consists of ii commands that let you lot to rotate your camera past 45% degrees, something that is non that useful while playing but tin be great for taking screenshots, casting games, or recording videos. You lot tin can utilize this feature not merely while playing the game, but likewise while being an Observer in a Custom Game or while watching Replays.

File Location

Click on the Folder icon to open the Hotkeys folder containing all your Profiles and then use a text editor to open the Profile yous desire to change, copy the code above and paste information technology in the Hotkeys section.
